In the years of their relationship Stephen had noticed Nick wasn't a talker.
But he could tell his lover's mood by the songs he was singing in the shower. It was Nick's way to cope with the madness of their work.
One day it would be "It's the final countdown. We're leaving together."
The other day "Happy. Bring me down."
Or "Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination".
And "You know there's no guarantee surviving anomalies."
It didn't matter that Nick couldn't sing.
Every single time it made Stephen smile, wanting to go into the bathroom and join his lover.
