Defiance (2.12/2.13 Season Finale)

This was quite the season finale! Did our most favourite mayor ever survive? (And I don't mean Amanda Rosewater *g*)


Aaah, this is going to be easy peasy, with a lovely candle light dinner.....


We learn some VIBI (Very Important Background Information) about Niles Pottinger: he learned
how to cook for the first time on a mission in Prague: boiling potatoes. Gasp!


After Amanda washed Niles' dishes (no, not a euphemism), he takes her on a romantic outing:
he has captured the persons responsible for Kenya's death (Datak and Stahma Tarr).


Niles gives Amanda a gun and leaves her alone with the Tarrs, so "she can carry out justice, any
way she sees fit".
She wants to kill them, but doesn't. Because it would lead to chaos and most of all: what does is
say about her.

When they return to Defiance they learn New York was destroyed by Irisa.
Of course, Viceroy Mercado blames poor Potty. Why on earth did he give that girl a badge?!
(At the next elections I'm voting for Viceroy Mercado to be Biggest Arsehole in the World).


Doc Yewll has a plan to stop Irisa.
Niles thinks she's going to tell Amanda about Kenya's "clone", but she covers his back.


Niles, Amanda and Doc Yewll find Irisa.
Amanda hesitates in shooting her.


But Nolan stops them (sorry, not a very flattering screen cap, but I wanted some Niles/Nolan).


Poor Potty has a boo boo. Bad Nolan!

After the hurt he needs some serious comfort!

Amanda even kisses the scars on his hands.


Awww......


EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Where is Season 3?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been one of his best roles ever!

Germany is behind now and has to wait another week for the finale on TV.
I will buy the DVD as soon as it gets out in Germany.

The dinner was romantic, but then he brought her to the Tarrs and he looked so happy and proud about it! Oh, dear. It was like when a cat or a dog brings you some dead small animal and it wags its tail proudly and you are like 'eww, gross'. Poor Niles, you should know that is not romantic at all.

Obviously I'm terribly happy about him surviving (epic yay!).

Also I have found some Niles/Amanda/Nolan in AO3 that are definitely interesting *g*

I am so glad he survived! But now we need confirmation that there is going to be a third series. They're taking longer than last year *stern look at Syfy*

Yes, we finally got to see why he wears the weird glove thingies.

Niles was very heroic. He even said Nolan could shoot him (and then Nolan knocked him out). Niles definitely has some (twisted) feelings for Amanda!

Fingers crossed for a third series now!

Edit: Watching Inside Defiance Episode 13 I learned they wanted Niles Pottinger to attempt suicide during the finale. There was a plot that ultimately led to needing to kill him. But Kevin Murphy, the producer, decided against it, because "Jim loved the experience so much and we loved him. The result is Jim Murray is going to be around and kicking in Season 3."
