"It's not right," Connor complained.

"Come on. It's not that bad," Becker answered. "At least we didn't encounter any dangerous creatures."

"I'm not so sure," Connor looked at a man in rags and covered in sores. "I don't know what timeline this is. I wish Emily was here, she could have helped us. This looks Victorian, but then again, it doesn't."

Suddenly they heard something ringing. A man, looking like Scrooge, took a device out of his pocket, talking in a strange language.

"Bah! Humbug!" Becker exclaimed, pointing at a sign that said: Welcome to the Deventer Dickens Festival 2012."

Author Notes2: I was in Deventer yesterday, a Dutch city with a beautiful historical centre. It was probably founded around 768 by the English missionary Lebuinus. The city has a yearly winter festival called Dickens Festijn, when hundreds of characters of Dickens' books come alive:
