Soldiers have to stay calm at all times.

Showing no emotions, acting stoically in every situation.

But in personal situations Becker let his, otherwise immaculate, hair down.

At the pub, drinking, having fun, talking about the deeper meaning of life.

Then why was Matt Anderson always so stoical?

It frustrated Becker tremendously.

But gradually he learned more about the man's past and troubles, mankind's future.

And finally, when Matt's father died, he saw an emotion for the first time.

A deep, harrowing pain in his eyes, the windows of his soul.

Becker was sad and happy at the same time.
