Primeval Drabbles: Crowd Control
Title: Crowd Control
Word Count: 5 x 100
Rating: G
Characters/Pairing: Becker, Burton, Connor, Jenny, Lester, Matt
Disclaimer: Not mine, no money made. Primeval and its characters belong to Impossible Pictures
Author Notes: A set of drabbles, each one from a team fest character’s POV. I wonder where I got the inspiration? *vbg*
Matt was scared.
This was the worst anomaly incursion he’d ever experienced.
They’d been called to a huge building in the middle of London.
All kinds of creatures seemed to have come through.
Scary ones, with horns.
Zombie like creatures.
Creatures with armours and weapons.
Even a giant donkey!
He wanted to tase them all.
But he didn’t know where to begin.
Matt ran around in a huge hall.
He had to find the anomaly.
But he was confused with all these… these creatures around.
And they didn’t go away, even when they were asked to.
He looked at Becker.
Becker was anxious.
They had to find the anomaly.
But there were so many people here.
Well, they were more like creatures.
Becker was confused.
And he knew Matt was too.
Because for once, there was an expression on Matt’s face.
Becker wanted to tase these…. creatures.
Why didn’t they go away?
Some of them even raised the weapon they were holding.
Thinking they were heroes.
But they behaved so stupidly!
Then Connor appeared.
He had a huge smile on his face.
“Brilliant!” Connor beamed. “I wish this had happened to me whenever I visited a film and comic con!”
Philip Burton watched the team at work in Olympia Grand Hall through its CCTV system.
He saw his team trying to find a way through all the visitors of the con.
Most people were cosplaying.
Philip saw characters from Star Wars and Dr Who.
Daleks, storm troopers and Darth Vader.
Bittersweet memories swept through his mind.
Memories of his youth, when he resembled the geeky Connor Temple so much.
But then he told himself to get a grip.
Then he’d been young and ignorant.
Now he had an important mission.
He was the only one who could save this world.
After they’d closed the anomaly and made sure no creatures had come through,
Connor had the time to geek out.
This was so cool!
Kenny Baker and David Prowse were here.
His heroes from Star Wars.
Of course Connor had identified himself with Luke Skywalker, the heroic farm boy.
But the men behind the masks and costumes were so awesome.
He wanted to ask them for their autograph.
But then he told himself to get a grip.
He was not geek boy anymore.
He was a man with an important task.
Well, one autograph wouldn’t hurt, he thought and grinned.
Lester pinched his nose.
Another situation that needed crowd control.
And what a crowd it was!
“Get a life,” he mumbled. “Or a girlfriend.”
But then he looked at himself.
His everyday reality surpassed one’s imagination.
But he was in his office 24/7.
Alone, with no life.
“We’re telling them it was part of the con,” Jenny suggested.
“And what a con it is.” Lester sighed.
“Wait!” he said, when Jenny left the office.
“I’m going with you. I’m sure the boys can do that so-called act again to please the audience.”
And maybe I could join them, he thought.

I watched a few eps of North Square and I love it.
And of course I bought Arthur of the Britons :DDD
I watched the first ep yesterday. I don't remember any specific scenes from the series, but I hope to get that adventurous feeling I had as a kid.
It's slower paced, but that's how to TV was at that time.
Squee!

The guys are the convention!!! SWEET!
I love how you got Philip remembering how he used to be like Connor!
Awesome!

I want Philip to be human, not a cardboard villain, like they did with Helen.
Thanks!:D

*sporfles* Love all of their reactions, and the double use of 'con'. Glad Connor got at least one autograph, and the convention would be a perfect cover!
