Crawled into a crevice, they waited out the storm.

Stephen and Ryan huddled together.

They shivered, trying to warm each other.

Lightning lit the Cretaceous night. Blinding them.

Thunder cracked around them, deafening them.

Rain was pouring down, soaking them.

“What if this was your last night being alive? What would you do?” Stephen asked.

Ryan shivered. “I hope it’s not our last night, because I want to do this forever and in every timeline.”

Then his lips touched Stephen’s.

Their first kiss.

Stephen saw sparks lightning behind closed eyes.

His heart thundered.

But he didn’t feel the rain anymore.
