Author Notes: a (belated) birthday drabble for cordeliadelayne, who saw The Tempest at the Globe Theatre last weekend. I’ve never read or saw the play, so I hope I did it justice. I hope you had a wonderful day! *hugs*
“Our revels now are ended....
And—like the baseless fabric of this vision—
The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve...”
Becker cited solemnly.
“The Tempest?” Matt asked.
“Just look around you. Mankind created a beautiful world, but it’s meaningless when you see this. How did you survive in it?”
“It was the only world I knew until I walked into another timeline. But we’re here to change it. We have to fight the storms.”
“Plus the biggest one of all, the Tempest, caused by Philip Burton.”
