He blinked. It felt like waking up from a dream. A long dream.
He walked towards the woman. He knew her.
Memories tumbled through his head. Working together, making love, arguing, fighting.
She was his wife, Helen.
Other memories. His job at the university, primeval creatures, a building called the ARC, a blue eyed man, death and destruction.
He looked at her, waiting. There were memories. But there were no anticipations.
He felt numb.
“Listen to my orders. My voice is the only one you recognize and obey.”
“Yes.”
“Go inside the ARC and kill Nick.”
