Usually it was Connor who was accident prone.

But lately it was Stephen, over and over again.

It started with a dislocated finger.

Then a sprained ankle.

A cut at his eyebrow that needed stitches.

He got everybody worried.

What had happened to their reliable, indestructible team member?

And again they had to bring him to Dr Richard Sexton, the ARC’s doctor.

“Is he all right?” Nick asked worriedly, when Jenny came out of the infirmary.

“I have a feeling poor Stephen is addicted.” Jenny answered.

“Oh no! On what?”

“I think he needs his daily dose of Dr Sexy.”

 

“Does this hurt?” a soft voice asked.

Stephen had his eyes closed.

Warm hands softly touched his bare torso, examining his ribs.

“Only when I breathe.”

“Shh, relax. Your muscles are too tense.”

Hands continued to stroke his bare flesh.

“Does anything else hurt?”

“Blurry vision.”

“Look at me.”

Blue eyes looked at him with a concerned look.

“Can’t breathe.”

“Relax. I’m very good at CPR. Do you need some help breathing?”

“Yes, please.”

Lips touched, followed by heavy breathing.

They didn’t notice Jenny opening the door and closing it again.

Stephen was getting his daily dose of Dr Sexy.
